スタンフォード日記1

First week

day 1
When we arrived at the San Francisco International airport, we met the host students from Stanforod.
we were surprised at the passion of them. they claimed out "hooo!! Welcome!!"

day 2
Since i had to build up my physical strength for the game of futsal in September, i woke up at 7 and went running.
Stanford university is so loud that buses go around, and it takes more than 30 minutes for one round.
And the air is so clear and many people run around, so it was really nice for running!
We had test and meeting with teachers.
at night we had Bon-Fire(camp-fire). we ate marshmallow and did WAVE.

day 3
i was assigned to section6 according to the result of listening test and the meeting with teacher.
i think i'm lucky because boys seem to be funny and girls are cute!!
at that time i didn't know that section6 was the most high-leveled and we would have so much homework...
Host students showed us the university, it has two main libraries, one tower, lots of grass spaces, and a big book store.

day 4
after English class, we had a chance to hear the presentation of hoststudents.
i was surprised at the quality of it!! he was really good at attracting people's attention!
what is imporatant about presentation is not the quality of powerpoint, but practicing and behavior.

day 5
in order to get accustomed to American culture, i bought skateboard with my two friends. it is really nice (but not for trick...)
and after that we ate Sushi!! the miso soup was unbelieavably nice!!
though it often occurs that i don't eat sushi or miso soup for a week, but it was the best miso soup in my life.

day 6
the first presentation day. it was about "introducing my friend".
i think it was terrible, cuz i often bounced a lot, speak too fast and very few eye-contact.
and also it was the deadline day of first proposal for my final paper. it was also bad, cuz it was not concrete at all.
i learned how to create a hypothesis there.

day 7
SF tour with host group.
SF MoMA, Starbucks, Union Square, Fishermans' Wharf, Ghirardelli Chocolate and so on.
we couldn't go to the goldengate bridge. I took a lot of picture.
the impression of SF was there are so many steep slopes that it would be fun if i brought skateboard!!
and the pizza shop which we entered at random was pretty good.
when we go back to stanford, we had to wait for an hour because the train had gone while some people was in the rest room.
so i went to the bookshop and bought "one piece" of English version.
